This home page will change shortly - however for the purpose of this week - Here is our homework fun we talked about last class.
You will be presenting this on Tuesday September 27th. There will be 15 minutes to get ready before you present your sequence of questions.
The first activity (that will be assessed) is a questioning activity Section 5. Using the Module called - The Importance of Questioning .
Please read and complete the exercises from Sections 1-4; Section 5 is an activity we will do together - But you need to prepare for. Section 5 in advance.
You will do the activity as it is written in the module: #1, 2, 3, 4. But you will be choosing different figures - Biology Figures (see attachment from Grade 11 and 12 Biology Curriculum - University and college level)
Here are the figures for our Biology class - and below are the collaborative groups that we will work in. Each member of the group has been assigned a figure to make the process on Tuesday work smoother. Looking forward to hearing your questions and seeing your accompanying visuals.
Please bring in visuals or manipulatives to support your sequence of questioning. You do not have to use the exact visual - you can augment this visual (i.e., increasing labeling or changing colours, etc.)
There is one extra figure provided - if you are feeling very apprehensive about the figure you are questioning on (however you do choose this, you need to make sure that your group knows this). Within every group, only one person will question about each figure.
NOTE: This is a role playing activity. One person will be the teacher (asking the sequence of questions to support the concept - figure), one person will be the student and answer the questions and one person will record the actual answers that the student says. Then people will switch roles until everyone has taught their concept-figure.
Sample questioning is provided below also.
